Are you cited when AI answers your query?

Enter your domain and a question your buyers actually ask. This runs it through a live AI answer engine several times and shows whether you're cited, how often, and which competitors it cites instead.

Asking the AI engine your question…
How it works

Measured, not a single screenshot

1

You ask what your buyers ask. Enter your domain and a real question — the kind someone types into ChatGPT before choosing a vendor.

2

We run it 3 times through a live engine. The question goes to OpenAI's model with live web search — the same class of retrieval behind ChatGPT's web answers. Each run returns an answer and the sources it cited.

3

You get share of answers, not a snapshot. AI answers are non-deterministic — roughly 1 in 9 runs differs. So we report how many of the runs cited you, which competitors got cited, and a sample answer with its sources.

About this tool

How does the AI citation checker work?
You enter your domain and a question your buyers might ask. The tool sends that question to an AI answer engine (OpenAI with live web search) several times, reads the web sources each answer cites, and reports whether your domain appears — how often across the runs (share of answers), which competitors are cited instead, and a sample answer with its sources.
Why run the same question multiple times?
AI answers are non-deterministic — roughly 1 in 9 runs returns a meaningfully different citation set. A single check is one roll of the dice. Running it several times and reporting the share of answers that cite you is the only honest way to measure AI citation.
Is this the same as being cited by ChatGPT?
It's representative. The check uses OpenAI's model with live web search — the same class of retrieval that powers ChatGPT's web answers. Citation sets vary by engine and over time, so treat the result as a strong directional read, not a guarantee for every engine on every run.
What do I do if I'm not cited?
Look at which competitor domains ARE cited, make sure your page is indexed in Bing (it feeds ChatGPT and Copilot), and apply on-site structural GEO: answer-first passages, original data, entity density, freshness. The free GEO Readiness Scanner scores any page on those signals, and the GrantCompass case study shows the playbook that earned 192,924 AI citations.

Track it continuously, across every engine

This tool is a one-off read on one engine. To monitor your share of AI answers over time — across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Copilot, on all your money prompts — that's what I built LumenGEO for. And if you want a growth leader who builds tools like this, let's talk.
